Overview
Beaumaris is looking for a software development Lead who will oversee the design and implementation of key components of its flagship product. This exciting opportunity will allow the team lead to develop product through the entire software life cycle, have direct input into product direction, and design software for a growing industry.
Key Responsibilities
Manage software development including:
Requirements analysis
Functional specification
Software Design
Implementation
Schedule definition
Manage Development Team including:
Performance grading
Tasking
Mentoring
Manage budget including:
Development equipment
Lab equipment
Role Definition
This lead role will be accountable for product delivery objectives. Meeting those objectives will require budget development, regular milestone reporting, development scheduling, team buildup, technical product definition and driving the team toward predictable product delivery. This role will also require some budget analysis to forecast for product development needs.
Job-Specific Authority and Scope
• This role reports to the Beijing based offshore site manager
• Coordinates with on site development management and US-based development
• Independent decisions are made regularly
• Software delivery milestones reporting
• Software product delivery
• Hiring decision input
Business Travel and Physical Demands
Business travel of less than 10 percent yearly is expected for this position. Physical demands: Office environment.
Preferred Education
Master Degree, global equivalent or equivalent Computer Science experience
Work Experiences
• Minimum of 5 years work experience
• Hands-on and passionate about product quality, high performance distributed system architecture, scalability, extensibility and usability
• Past software lead in a product development organization for 1 years
• Past experience as a software development for 4 years
• Past experience working with offshore remote offices is a plus Skills
• English language fluency is required
• Task management
• java programming highly required and some C++ programming
• Management of agile software development highly desired
• Ability to multitask
• Communicate in written and presentation format
• Ability to understand new technology
• Experience in any of the following technology areas are a plus:
• Web 2.0
• SOAP
• GUI
• Distributed Systems
• CORBA
• Network Programming
